Something strange is happening – there is a great silence on earth today, a great silence and stillness. The whole earth keeps silence because the King is asleep.

Below are some ways you can participate in The Lent Journey with the Northeastern Seminary & Roberts Wesleyan Community.

Active Reflection
Journaling
All through Saturday, Roman soldiers stood guard at Jesus’ tomb, a symbol of fear holding vigil over what seemed lost. In your own life, is shame standing watch over something buried in regret or pain? Remember, Jesus died not only to forgive you, but to free you.
Consider what it would mean to stop guarding what grace has already healed. Let the stone be rolled away, and see that the tomb is empty. Christ has overcome. Shame has no ground left to stand on.
Take time today to journal your thoughts. What stones still need to be rolled away in your life? Where might resurrection be waiting to break through?
