Holy Week challenges us to step outside ourselves so as to attend to the needs of others: those who long for a sympathetic ear, those in need of comfort or help. We should not simply remain in our own secure world, that of the ninety-nine sheep who never strayed from the fold, but we should go out, with Christ, in search of the one lost sheep, however far it may have wandered.

Father God, You promised a Messiah and He came, just as You said. We trust that we can count on His promised return when we will join Him forever. Make us people whose word can be trusted and who are faithful, in love, to You, to our families, and to our neighbors. Increase our faith and boldness to proclaim the truth of Jesus to the world. In His Name, we pray, Amen.

In this video, alum Matthew French reflects on a powerful moment from his visit to the Holy Land. During the trip, a man named Cliff, who had been experiencing a deep spiritual transformation, asked to be baptized in the Jordan River. Witnessing that baptism was unforgettable.

Later, while in Jerusalem, Cliff struck up a conversation with a local who wasn’t part of the group. Moved by the Spirit, he shared his faith and the message of the gospel. It was a remarkable reminder that God is always at work, both in us and through us, no matter our vocation and no matter where we go.
